Smart-home budget estimator

Estimate a range covering design, installation, devices, configuration and commissioning—not merely the price of a device bundle.

QUICK PLANNING ESTIMATE

Describe the property and choose functions.

Every setting is available in one place. Change any quantity and the budget and cost breakdown update immediately.

01

What type of property are you planning?

The project stage affects both the possible architecture and the cost of changes.

Property type
Project stage
Estimator range: 20–600 m².

02

How many rooms will the system cover?

We use this to create a quick baseline. A living area, kitchen and circulation are added automatically.

03

Lighting and room controls

Defaults come from the number of rooms and selected finish level.

DALI is a digital lighting-control standard. It enables individual fixture addressing, smooth dimming and flexible scenes.
Control for LED strips or fixtures that can change RGB colour and independently adjust white light.
A conventional button or simple room panel for controlling lights, blinds and scenes.
A higher-grade panel, often with a display and sensors, combining several room functions in one place.
04

Heating, cooling and ventilation

Enter independently controlled zones and units, not individual loops or radiators.

Heating type

Additional HVAC options

A fan-coil unit with three fixed fan speeds. Automation manages room temperature and airflow speed.
A newer fan-coil with continuously variable 0–10 V fan control, enabling quieter and more precise operation.
Connection between the smart-home system and central heating, cooling or ventilation, commonly through Modbus or BACnet.

The exact HVAC model and available interface must be verified before quotation.

05

Shading, safety, multimedia and energy

Select only the functions that should genuinely belong to the shared system.

Small sensors that detect an open window or door. They can pause heating, trigger an alarm or launch a scene.
Integration of an electronic lock for remote access, guest codes and arrival or leaving scenes.

Multimedia and home cinema

Add independent music zones or a complete AV room—this option is available for apartments too.

An independently controlled music area such as a living room, kitchen or terrace. The allowance covers preparation, integration and commissioning; speakers are specified after design.
A complete AV room allowance: TV or projector, receiver, a good-quality speaker package, wiring, integration, installation and calibration. Building work and luxury systems require a separate quotation.
An outdoor wind, rain, temperature and sunlight sensor that can automatically protect blinds, awnings and the garden.
Monitoring of whole-building or selected-circuit consumption in a three-phase installation, including history and alerts.
Integration of solar generation or battery storage so production can be visualised and loads controlled automatically.
06

Architecture and finish level

Use our recommendation or specify your preferred architecture.

System architecture
Level
An integration layer that combines products or protocols from different manufacturers into shared apps and scenes.
A bespoke API connection to a device or service when a ready-made standard integration does not exist.
Optional infrastructure preparation
Preparation for wired LAN, Wi‑Fi access points, a network cabinet and capacity for smart-home devices.
HOW TO READ THE RESULT

A smart-home budget is more than a list of devices.

A professional system includes design, cabinet space, wiring or gateways, installation, configuration, testing and documentation. This calculator therefore estimates an installed outcome.

01

Functional scope

Lighting circuits, heating zones, blinds, sensors and integrations matter more than floor area alone.

02

Project stage

Preparing infrastructure before electrical work and wall closure is usually simpler and less expensive.

03

Architecture

Wired, wireless and hybrid systems have different base costs and efficiencies across repeated points.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result a quotation?+

No. It is an indicative planning range. A quotation follows review of plans, devices, installation routes and the expected work scope.

Does the calculator include electrical work?+

Automation and its installation are included. Dedicated smart-home electrical preparation can be added separately in the architecture step. General electrical work remains excluded.

Does the price include blinds and air conditioners?+

It includes automation and integration of selected functions. It excludes the blind motors, curtains, air conditioners, heat pumps and other HVAC equipment itself.

Can I build the system in stages?+

Yes. The best approach is to plan the target infrastructure from the start and then activate functions in stages without rebuilding the foundation.
